The client had extensive pre-existing back issues, and thus insurance company initially denied payment of policy limits saying all issues were pre-existing. After filing lawsuit insurance company ultimately agreed to offer policy limits ($100k) from the at-fault driver. UIM carrier initially offered $30k citing pre-existing issues as well, but after negotiations and threat of suit agreed to resolve for $185k from UIM carrier.
