Case Summary:

middle school student was running during cross-country practice and crossing the street at a marked crosswalk near 15th and Ash Street in Ottawa, Kansas, when he was hit by a driver. He suffered head injuries and needed medical care, leaving his parents worried about his health and how the accident would impact his future.

To make matters worse, the initial police report incorrectly blamed the child for the crash. The investigating officer personally knew the at-fault driver and filed a report that did not accurately reflect what happened. This made an already stressful situation even more overwhelming for the family.

Our team stepped in and took a closer look at the evidence. We challenged the inaccurate report, uncovered what really happened, and pushed back against the attempt to shift blame. Because of our work, the fault determination was corrected, and we secured the full $100,000 insurance policy limits for the family.
