Case Summary:

Our client was helping trim a tree at a property in Archie, Missouri, when a large branch unexpectedly fell and knocked him off the ladder he was standing on. The fall caused him to suffer serious injuries, including fractured ribs and a collapsed lung. He was taken to the hospital for treatment and faced a painful recovery as his injuries slowly healed.

During the case, the insurance adjuster argued that the client should receive less compensation because he did not require follow-up medical treatment after leaving the hospital. Our legal team pushed back, explaining that injuries like fractured ribs and a punctured lung typically heal on their own and often do not have additional treatment options, meaning the client simply had to endure the pain while his body recovered.

By clearly explaining the reality of the injuries and the recovery process, we were able to negotiate an additional $15,000 beyond the insurer’s initial top offer. In the end, the case was successfully resolved with a $205,000 settlement for our client.
