A husband and wife were injured in a serious chain-reaction crash on Interstate 70 in Kansas City. The couple was driving when another driver rear-ended their vehicle. The impact caused a diesel truck to strike them as well, sending their vehicle into the median. The crash was severe enough to deploy all of the airbags, and the at-fault driver was cited for following too closely.
Both clients suffered significant injuries. They experienced head injuries, broken ribs, chest pain, headaches, back pain, knee injuries, and other physical symptoms following the collision. They underwent emergency medical evaluations, including CT scans, X-rays, and an EKG, and later received chiropractic treatment as they worked through their recovery.
The effects of the crash went beyond physical injuries. One client developed severe anxiety about driving and symptoms consistent with post-traumatic stress, making everyday travel difficult. The couple also reported that the crash affected the businesses they own and operate, creating additional financial stress during an already challenging time.
Responsibility for the crash was accepted by the insurance company, and we were able to recover the full available policy limits. The case resolved with a $200,000 settlement for the couple in a KC car crash, with each client receiving $100,000 to help them move forward after this life-changing accident.
