Rita joined the DM Law team with the purpose of helping the Latino community, especially those who do not speak English and may be afraid to seek help due to their immigration status.

Rita joined the DM Law team with the purpose of helping the Latino community, especially those who do not speak English and may be afraid to seek help due to their immigration status.

Her job consists of listening to people who call the office and supporting them in the initial stage so they can receive the help they need.

She enjoys providing hope to clients, especially those who didn’t realize how much help was available to them.

Rita firmly believes that DM Law is there to support and serve diverse communities.

Hispanic Connections

Rita was born and raised in Kansas City in a large family of Mexican origin on both sides. She enjoys spending time with them and values the lessons they taught her. She learned Spanish through her grandparents and local schools.

Rita loves parties and celebrations such as Mexican Independence Day. Her favorite food is fideos and horchata.

When it comes to music, her heart belongs to Selena, although she also enjoys Los Kumbia Kings and local groups like Trio Aztlán. Some of her favorite artists are Salvador Dalí and Frida Kahlo.

Education

  • Foreign Language Academy, where she practiced Spanish extensively
  • Lincoln College Preparatory Academy, where she continued studying Spanish and was also part of the International Baccalaureate, Advanced Placement, and Dual Credit programs
  • Missouri University of Science & Technology, where she studied Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering
  • MCC – Penn Valley and UMKC, where she studied Spanish and Psychology

Fun Facts

Rita loves sports. Since she was young, she has been a devoted fan of the Royals and is also part of Raider Nation. She also supports other teams such as Sporting KC, Golden State, KC Comets, KC Mavericks, KC Current, and Hendrick Motorsports.

She has two dogs: Hoppy and Tito.
