Mayra is part of the DM Law team as a Bilingual Legal Assistant, preparing documents and maintaining open communication between the client and the attorney.
She truly enjoys her work, especially when supporting attorneys in preparing and negotiating fair settlements for clients. For Mayra, it is very rewarding to schedule payments and see the relief clients feel when their cases are resolved.
Mayra is bilingual, which makes communication easier between English-speaking attorneys and Spanish-speaking clients. She believes that Hispanics/Latinos should turn to DM Law because they have a complete team that works hard and knows how to achieve results. Everyone puts in effort at every step of the legal process, from handling the case to reaching the final settlement.
Hispanic Roots
Mayra was born in Kansas City. Her family, originally from Zacatecas, Mexico, moved there from Long Beach, California. She learned Spanish as a child and later had to learn English. For her, it was a priority to speak both languages in order to communicate with her family outside the United States and with others in the Spanish-speaking community.
She loves the warmth and generosity of Latin culture. For her, cooking and sharing meals with others is a way to express her love for her culture.
Education
Mayra first studied at Park University and later transferred to UMKC, where she began her college career studying Pre-Law and then earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communications.
Fun Facts
Mayra enjoys watching sports and has visited 15 NBA, NFL, and MLB stadiums. Her favorite teams are the Milwaukee Bucks, the Kansas City Royals, and the Los Angeles Chargers.
