Zach is part of the DM Law Intake Team, where he works as a Bilingual Intake Specialist, evaluating cases and providing guidance at the beginning of the legal process. He enjoys helping people who have been injured and need legal support.
When working with Spanish-speaking clients, he helps translate and communicate with others involved in their case who do not speak Spanish. At the same time, he feels that he also learns from them, since Spanish is not his first language. For example, one time a client taught him some new Spanish terms and correct pronunciation, which was a great experience for him.
Hispanic Connections
Zach was born and raised in the Kansas City metropolitan area. At age 6, he began learning Spanish thanks to his mother, who specialized in it in college and was his first Spanish teacher. He later continued learning the language through public education and had the opportunity to travel abroad. He also worked at a restaurant where many employees were Spanish-speaking, which allowed him to practice even more.
Zach is a musician and loves Latin music. He really enjoys listening to it and comparing its style and rhythms to traditional American rock/pop. Another thing he enjoys about Latin culture is the food—he says it’s the best!
Education
Zach studied pre-law with an emphasis in sociology and graduated from the University of Kansas in 2020.
Fun Facts
Zach has a 6-year-old dog named Aspen, who is his best friend! In his free time, he enjoys reading, learning, and cooking.
