DM Injury Law’s August 2025 Community Involvement Recap!

By

As summer comes to an end, check out what the DM Injury Law team has been up to! Football season is BACK, which means we kicked off the school year with our 5th Annual Media Day!

Take a look at just a few of our community involvement initiatives from August!

5th Annual Media Day

We hosted our 5th Annual Media Day at Arrowhead Stadium! This event invited local high school football teams to share their hopes for the upcoming season, hear from local sports leaders, and more. The DM Law Foundation, in partnership with the Greater Kansas City Football Coaches Association, has awarded more than $86,000 in grants to support local high school football programs across the Kansas City metro and Topeka, Kansas, public school systems.

This funding initiative was part of the Foundation’s Annual Equipment Grant Program, which provided essential gear and resources to high school football teams based on need, merit, and a commitment to coaching education and best practices. The 2025 grant directly benefited 23 high schools, helping them acquire new equipment, uniforms, and technology critical to player safety and performance.

Grant resources included:

  • Tackle football equipment
  • Field and practice gear
  • Sideline HD camera systems
  • Helmets, shoulder pads, pants, and other wearables
  • Footballs and additional training supplies

Unidos US Pre Conference 2025

We attended the Unidos US Pre-Conference workshop session: Unveiling the Latino Equality Index. We explored key findings from a groundbreaking new report on equity issues impacting Kansas City’s Hispanic community. Developed by the University of Missouri–Kansas City’s Center for Economic Information in collaboration with the Mattie Rhodes Center and the Urban League of Greater Kansas City, the Hispanic/Latino Equality Index highlighted disparities in economic opportunity, health, education, social justice, and civic engagement.

The session featured local experts and community leaders sharing data, insights, and lived experiences—laying the groundwork for an equity-driven policy agenda and regional Hispanic strategic coalition.

KU Kickoff

We participated in the KU Kickoff at Corinth Square, KU Alumni’s annual kickoff event that engages Jayhawks in the Kansas City area. Corinth Square gathered nearly 2,000 Jayhawks to bring attention to the upcoming school year and connect with the local Jayhawk community.

Hillcrest Transitional Housing event

Hillcrest Transitional Housing

We attended Hillcrest Transitional Housing’s 25th Annual Gala, which included an evening of empowering and touching stories, entertainment, gourmet food and drink, and the chance to win incredible raffle experience packages and/or live auction items. Stephanie Moore, our Community Relationship Manager, served as this year’s Emcee and honorary Gala Chair.

Our live auction was led by Celebrity Auctioneer Trisha Brauer. Hillcrest is a transitional housing program that helps homeless families become self-supportive, self-reliant contributors to society.

Make-A-Wish Taste of STL Event

We volunteered at the Make-A-Wish booth during the 2025 Taste of St. Louis in Downtown Clayton. This city’s largest annual food festival featured more than 40 local restaurants and bars, along with live music and family-friendly activities. A portion of all beverage sales supported the local Make-A-Wish chapter.

MADD Saturation Saturday 2025

MADD Saturation Saturday STL 2025

We supported Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) at its annual Saturation Saturday Roll Call. The event brought together law enforcement officers and community leaders to highlight the importance of keeping roads safe. Remarks were shared by St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Melissa Price Smith, Jason Glaser, State Representative Cecelie Williams, and representatives from MoDOT.

The event served as a meaningful reminder of the critical role our officers play in preventing impaired driving and protecting lives across the community. We were proud to support the event by providing energy drinks to officers to help them stay alert throughout the evening.

Guardian Angel Settlement Association | Back-to-School Block Party

We joined the Guardian Angel Settlement Association’s (GASA) Back-to-School Block Party in St. Louis City, celebrating community, children, and education. The event brought together over 15 vendors and nonprofit organizations, all committed to supporting families preparing for the new school year.

We distributed school supplies to help children start the year ready to learn. The day was filled with inflatables, free food, games, a DJ, and perfect weather. We were honored to be part of such an impactful event.
