Our client was seriously injured when another driver exited a highway without yielding and crashed into them. The impact caused a concussion, a partial tear in the shoulder, and ongoing neck and back injuries that required medical treatment and follow-up care.
Early in the case, the insurance company made a settlement offer that didn’t come close to covering the full impact of the injuries, especially the future care our client would likely need. Despite clear evidence of injury, the insurer initially refused to take the claim seriously or offer fair compensation.
We pushed back. By clearly outlining the long-term effects of the injuries and formally notifying the at-fault driver that multiple opportunities to settle for policy limits had been ignored, pressure was placed where it mattered. Shortly after, the insurance company reconsidered its position and extended its full policy limits.
The case was resolved before a lawsuit was filed, with a $100,000 settlement. This outcome covered the client’s medical bills and left them with approximately $50,000 in their pocket.
