Ryan Watson’s legal journey is deeply rooted in the Midwest. Raised in St. Louis, Missouri, he attended both middle and high school there before choosing to stay in-state for college. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance and Banking from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Driven by a passion for the law, Ryan continued his education in Columbia, earning his Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law.
After a year practicing in St. Louis, Ryan relocated to Kansas City, where he spent the next 15 years building a distinguished career defending corporations and employers in civil litigation. He spent a decade at a prominent national defense firm, rising to the position of partner. During this time, he specialized in defending insurance companies and product manufacturers in complex claims and litigation across the country. This experience provided him with an in-depth understanding of the strategies, procedures, and operations of large corporations and insurance carriers, insight he now uses to his clients’ advantage.
In 2016, Ryan made a pivotal career shift, dedicating his practice to advocating for individuals and families who have suffered injury or loss due to the negligence or misconduct of others. This transition marked a powerful turn toward plaintiff representation, handling the very types of cases he once defended.
Today, Ryan represents personal injury clients throughout the Midwest, guiding them through every stage of the legal process, from initial claim to resolution. He also collaborates closely with DM Law’s regional offices across several states and plays a key role in handling the firm’s most complex and technical cases.
Known for his strategic and aggressive legal approach, Ryan treats every case with the same commitment and care he would offer a close friend or family member. He builds trust by remaining personable and relatable, helping clients feel confident and informed throughout their legal journey. His ultimate goal is to maximize each client’s recovery as efficiently and effectively as possible.
Outside of the courtroom, Ryan values time with his wife and three children. A passionate sports enthusiast, he enjoys attending his kids’ sporting events and volunteers as a basketball coach for local high school teams.
