DM Injury Law’s February 2026 Community Involvement Recap

By

A new year means new opportunities to give back to our communities. We at DM Injury Law wanted to share some of our February community involvement initiatives we helped with in Kansas City and St. Louis!

DM Injury Law’s 2nd Annual Citywide Basketball Tournament

The 2nd Annual “Who’s Got This?” Citywide Basketball Championship, hosted by DM Injury Law, brought the Kansas City community together this Valentine’s Day at the Homefield Showcase Center. The event featured 22 teams and a heartfelt celebration of youth sports. We were proud to provide roses for the women in attendance and cookies for the children, while our halftime show featured the KC Ole School Drill Team and a 3-point contest coached by Attorney Ryan Watson

Congratulations to our divisional winners and runners-up:

  • 5th Grade: 1st Place – Mentality 2033; 2nd Place – Belton Pirates 2033
  • 6th Grade: 1st Place – Hoop Nation; 2nd Place – KCHS Hoops 2032
  • 7th Grade: 1st Place – MOKAN Future Tate; 2nd Place – GCI Aztecs

Beyond the scoreboard, our community made a massive impact. We received over 500 donated items from all 22 competing teams to support Harvesters. A special congratulations goes to the Warriors’ 6th Grade team, coached by Anthony Sansone, who won the Harvesters Donation Drive by bringing in an incredible 136 items. We also want to recognize Mesiah Douglas for winning the PIG contest and Attorney Michael Propst and the Falcons’ 7th Grade team for their sportsmanship. Thank you to everyone who helped support families across the region.

St. Louis Area Foodbank

St. Louis Area Foodbank Office Volunteer Day

The DM Injury Law team volunteered at the St. Louis Area Foodbank. We spent the day bagging onions, and yes, there were a few tears, but we genuinely enjoyed every minute of it. It was a fun and hands-on way to give back as a team. Opportunities like this remind us how meaningful it is to serve alongside our community.

Volunteer Stats for the Day:

  • Produce- 5 pallets, 7,160 pounds
  • Snacks- 480 bags, 2,400 pounds
  • Total- 9,560 pounds
  • Made 7,804 meals
  • Can feed 1 person for 7.13 years

Neighbor2Neighbor Sharing the Love Valentine’s Day Lunch

Neighbor2Neighbor (N2N) is a vital local nonprofit that offers breakfast, lunch, and protection from the elements, alongside essential substance abuse counseling and housing referrals for the unhoused.

The team at DM Injury Law was honored to serve the guests of Neighbor2Neighbor a special Valentine’s Day breakfast and lunch. Our staff personally served a delicious menu of ribs, brisket, green beans, and potato salad. We are proud to support N2N in their mission to provide a path toward stability for our neighbors in need.

KC Heart Ball

American Heart Association – Heart Ball

For more than 100 years, the American Heart Association has made bold moves to save lives and pioneer scientific discoveries. The Heart of Kansas City campaign unites supporters with a shared purpose to raise the critical funds we need to ensure their life-saving work continues. We enjoyed a black-tie evening of festivities beginning with a pre-event reception, fabulous silent auction, elegant dinner, inspiring program, spectacular live auction, and the unforgettable Pulse Party.

Mom & Baby Fest – Urban Community Connections

DM Injury Law is proud to partner with Urban Community Connections as the official Car Seat Safety Sponsor for this year’s Mom & Baby Fest! Education and advocacy are at the heart of what we do, which is why we hosted the Car Seat Safety Activation Zone. We are honored to support Kansas City families in keeping their little ones safe.

Action STL and Arch City Defenders – Northside Movement Center Ribbon Cutting

DM Injury Law attended the ribbon-cutting for the Northside Movement Center. The space will serve as headquarters for ArchCity Defenders and Action STL, while also providing co-working space for community groups. It creates a centralized hub for advocacy, organizing, direct services, and community events. We are proud to support a space that will have a lasting impact on North City residents.
