Our client was seriously injured in a head-on collision where the other driver was clearly at fault. The crash caused a broken ankle that required surgery, a broken wrist, and a brain bleed. Thankfully, the brain injury healed on its own, but the recovery process was still painful, stressful, and disruptive to everyday life.
At first, it appeared the at-fault driver only had a $250,000 insurance policy. Many people would assume that was the maximum recovery available. Our team dug deeper and discovered an additional $1 million umbrella policy that applied to the crash, opening the door to much higher compensation.
When we sent our settlement demand, the insurance company asked for more time in an attempt to delay the case. We refused to allow stalling tactics and pushed the claim forward. That pressure paid off. The case ultimately settled for $600,000.
Although the medical bills totaled about $300,000 on paper, the actual amount paid was closer to $50,000. That meant our client was able to keep a significant portion of the settlement to move forward with life after the crash.
“Just because your medical bills are low doesn’t mean we can’t get you a great result.”
